Don't Blink...

Kenny Chesney has a song that speaks of an old man who turned 102 yrs old and someone asks him "whats the secret to life?" His reply was "don't blink" ---

Don't blink
Just like that you're six years old and you take a nap and you
Wake up and you're twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife
Don't blink
You just might miss your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your "better half"
Of fifty years is there in bed
And you're praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster than you think
So don't blink

I was glued to my tv when it looked like he looked at me and said

"Best start putting first things first."
Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand
You can't flip it over and start again
Take every breathe God gives you for what it's worth

I was watching a tv show with my husband the other night, and there was a family headed to their daughter's  high school graduation. The mom was teary eyed and reflected on the years of her daughter growing up so fast and how it seemed like just yesterday that she was still pregnant with her.

I cried with the tv mom ( I always cry when sad things happen on tv.. I'm a softie!) and it made me sad for that day to come for me. My Ba
by K is just shy of 14 months old and I don't want to blink and wake up to her graduating high school.

So somebody please fill me in on how to slow things down....

What can I do to keep my baby from growing up!! I'm not ready.. I have nightmares or her first day of Kindergarten... is that sad or what?? LOL

I guess all I can do is cherish every minute I have with her. Get as many kisses as I can each day...Take in all the giggles I can get...capture those funny faces on camera and make the most of it!
